Health starts in your mind

Life is better upside down ;-)

"Health embraces not the body only, but the mind and spirit as well; and not today's pain or pleasure alone, but the whole being and outlook of mankind."

Life certainly can be overwhelming sometimes. Work, personal relationships, and countless other reasons affect our mental health in different ways. However, making strides to feel better isn't nearly as complicated as you might think. Keeping our mental well-being the main priority is so crucial in today’s hectic, fast-paced world. Let me tell you, your mental health is more important than your career, your bank balance, other people's opinions, that event you said you would attend, your family's wishes, etc...

We take our mind for granted
Our mind is a wonderful and very powerful tool but it can really twist and manipulate our perspective on reality as well without us even realizing it.
On top of that the news and social media twists and manipulates it. Some of us are just blind to admit that. Our mind is such a powerful thing that, unfortunately, its true power just stays dormant for most of us. But give it the chance, wake it up, and it can do so many wonderful things in all aspects of life, be it physical health, better relationships and better decision-making.

In fact, it’s often changing the little things that can have an immediate effect on how we’re feeling, which is why it’s important to take time every day to focus on YOU.

So, whether you’re having a stressful day on the job, on the go, or wherever else you may be, here are 5 things you can do right now to start feeling better!

1. Don't Think about your 9 to 5 24/7

We all need to make a living, sure, but when you become too preoccupied with your 9-to-5, it’s easy to miss out on all the other things that can bring you joy. You’ve probably heard the term “work/life balance,” so here’s your opportunity to find that balance for yourself.

2. Laugh
Sounds too easy, right? But how often do we really all just take the time to have some fun, share a few jokes, and laugh until we’re in stitches? All of that laughter and cheer can help boost your mood and improve your mental health. Sometimes laughter really is great medicine!

3. Connect With Other People
We’re not talking just about using social media here – connecting with other people IRL represents a need that we all have. After all, we are social animals. By doing so, we can build relationships, empathy, and trust, which are all beneficial to our well-being.

4. Live In The Now
We all get caught up thinking about the past or worrying about the future, and it’s too easy to simply dwell on things that have already happened or things that might not even happen. Staying in the present moment is all about mindfulness and simply being without all the worry attached. Try it!

5. Breath That Routine
Does this sound familiar: Wake up, eat breakfast, go to work, buy groceries, make the same old meals, watch TV, go to bed? If it does, you’re certainly not alone. By maintaining the same routine day after day, we risk falling into a rut, which can negatively affect our emotions and mental health. Instead of sitting down after dinner in front of the TV, why not take a nice evening walk? Or instead of taking a bus to work or driving, how about using a bike instead?

Another Major and Important one

Mentally Self-Harming

~ Stop putting yourself down and talking yourself out of opportunities.

~ Stop using your past against your present.

~ Stop telling yourself that you’re not enough for someone or something.

Your mental diet includes the things you watch, what you read, how you think, who you follow and who you spend your time with.
If your goal is to improve your mental health, start by removing the junk from your mental diet.
Real self-care can’t be bought, it isn’t just spa says and facials. Real self-care is a series of tough decisions.
The decision to be more disciplined, to address your recurring toxic thoughts, to prioritize your mental health and to put your happiness over your history.

Life is more enjoyable when you appreciate how temporary every moment is. Embrace every moment, the bright and the dark, for they are all a part of your life experience. The more you can open up and embrace, the more light you can let into your life.

Keep taking time to develop inner peace and strength through breathwork and meditation/ mind-training.

May all be blessed with peace, love and wisdom.
